“Get in motion – squeeze yourself”

The upbeat green novia® – funnel, handle and metal plate coloured with ecological natural colours – brings bright colour to your kitchen and fresh flakes to your breakfast table.

In Eschenfelder’s workshop in Hauenstein, Germany, they only process local German beech wood from certified sustainable forests for the novia®.

The natural colours Eschenfelder use are the ones that catch the eye first. But that’s not all that’s new: they use knurled nuts made of stainless steel as locking screws. We love this beautiful detail!

Freshly crushed grain contains all the vital substances of the whole grain and thus forms the basis for a healthy, modern diet. The grain is gently broken up by the squeezing process and the valuable germ oils, carriers of vital substances and enzymes, remain unharmed. Flake-based treats are chewed more thoroughly than flour products and stimulate intestinal peristalsis far more than ground grain. Flakes are therefore also referred to as the “toothbrush of the intestine”. The consistency of the flakes results in a pleasant chewing sensation and gives them a special taste.

Squeezing mechanism: two nickel-free stainless steel rollers, wear-free operation without gears
Chute: nickel-free stainless steel
Easy cleaning due to open design. We include a small bamboo brush in the box for super easy cleaning.
Frame: solid German beech from certified sustainable forests, surface treated with linseed oil varnish (organic).
Hopper: anodised aluminium, natural colour ecotec green/blue/red
Flake thickness/strength: continuously adjustable
Flake output: a portion of muesli (50g) takes approx. 20 seconds – turn your oats into flour by re-squeezing oats several times
What can be flaked?: all grains (dry or moist) except corn, as well as various oilseeds, spices, legumes and much more.
Crank: length 20 cm, extra length 25 cm on order (free of charge)
Crank handle material: solid German beech or walnut wood, depending on model.
Screw clamp: for table tops up to a maximum thickness of 5 cm, depth of the table overhang: at least 4 cm
Dimensions HxWxD: 24 x 12 x 24cm (with crank)
Weight: 2.2kg (all models)

tip: Repeated squeezing makes the flakes finer and the flour content increases.

You can find operating instructions for the novia® models here.

I’ve had my Blendec now for five years and it’s used on an almost daily basis. Over the last few weeks I’d noticed that there seemed to be leaking from the bottom of the jug when blending. Not masses but enough to spray around the base. That’s it I thought - I’ll have to suck it up and buy a new jug. However, looking on the website I realised my jug was still under warranty. I filled in all the details and received a lovely email telling me a new jug was on its way. Super easy to do and fantastic customer service. Thank you Blendtec!

I contacted LUBA for advice to see if my Brod&Taylor FP-201 proofer could be repaired. I have been using it for both yoghurt-making as well as dough for a little over a decade now several times a week. The power switch was becoming a little intermittent and I was aware from past blog and newsletters that the proofer was intended to be repairable.

The same day I was advised that I could send it in for overhaul or I could have a look myself and see if the control panel buttons needed cleaning. While I did need an anti-tamper triangle 2.3mm bit I was able to see that the control buttons were designed using real switches rather than cheaper membranes. A little IPA on the contacts, some rapid pressing then a blow dry and the unit was back to its reliable self.

It is nice to have an appliance that is designed to be repaired as well as a company that is happy to chat to you about it over a decade after you bought it.

Thank you.

I cannot rate these guys highly enough, restored my faith in customer service way beyond my expectations. As a new and nervous sourdough breadmaker I ordered a piece of equipment for setting my sourdough starter. Eventually used it for the 1st time 3 month
s after buying only to find it wasn't heating up properly. I contacted the company late on a Friday, spoke to Tom who advised me to run some tests over the weekend and if still a problem to call them back on Monday. Assured that it wasn't me and that the thing really was defective, I called on Monday morning. No stress, no hassle, I was emailed a return postage label and told they would send the replacement out to me right away. I posted the item on Tuesday. On Wednesdsy I received the new properly working piece of equipment, that is, even before the returned item had been received by them. Guys, you made my day as I have very low expectations when it comes to customer service. Nice to know that companies and service like this still exist!
