The Folding Proofer & Slow Cooker has improved upon all the beloved features of the standard Folding Proofer and adds a Slow Cook mode. Both modes can be used continuously (for weeks even!) giving you a range of temperature between 21-90º C depending on your requirements.
Enjoy delicious one-pot meals using your own favourite Dutch oven or pot. Bread bakers will love the accurate, humid, low temperature control in Proofer mode perfect for rising and fermenting yeast bread dough or sourdough. Making yogurt in your own containers, melting chocolate, slow roasting black garlic or culturing a wide variety of probiotic fermented foods such as kombucha, tempeh and kefir are just a few of the applications of this unique appliance. Best of all, it folds flat in seconds for easy storage.
Convenient space-saving desig.
Your favorite pot is now your favorite slow cooker.
Accurate temperature control. Consistent humidity. The consistent low-temperature warmth is perfect for breadmakers.
Ultimate solution for fermenting and culturing. Explore a new world of fermented foods from kombucha to tempeh.
Spacious enough to hold several loaves of bread, an 7,5 Litre stock pot or 9 Litres of yogurt, yet folds down flat for storage in seconds. Fits in a kitchen drawer or pantry with sheet pans and cutting boards. Rack and water tray store inside when closed.
The Brod & Taylor Folding Proofer creates an environment of consistent low-temperature warmth that is vital for many kitchen processes. Gentle and consistent radiant heat rises from the aluminum base plate. Digital temperature controls provide settings from 21–49C.
A thermostat in the base of the Proofer controls the heat within a narrow range, making the Proofer much more consistent than yogurt makers, dehydrators, or ovens on proof settings. Food is warmed with radiant heat from the base and is generally stable within several degrees.
The Brod & Taylor Folding Proofer used in Dry Mode is best for making yogurt, chocolate, butter, tempeh, kifir, kombucha, sour cream, creme fraiche, cheese, and natto. Simply remove the water tray and place containers on the rack above the heating plate.
The Folding Proofer & Slow Cooker used in the Slow Cook Mode is best for traditional slow cooking, making black garlic, and sous vide cooking. Simply place your metal covered metal pot directly on the heating plate.
For slow cooking in the Proofer both the rack and the water tray are removed. Set the temperature on the digital panel according to what is specified in the Brod & Taylor recipe you are preparing.

Since having bought the proofer my bread making has really improved. Being able to control the proof temperature has enabled me to get more consistent results and understand the proving condition better.
Don’t underestimate this proving time and temperament and humidity control.
Well worth the initial outlay.
Kat Z. –
A great addition to a baker’s kitchen This handy folding device makes my bread rise better regardless of the humidity, dryness, or temperature of my kitchen. Makes for more consistent results with my bread making. But this thing also makes yogurt, kombucha, or black garlic. It can slow cook a pot of stew too. All those uses in a wonderful folding product.
Penni –
Must have for bakers The proofer changed my bread baking abilities from hit and miss to consistently great. The steady even gentle warmth is a perfect place to proof. I love making yogurt too. I love how it folds up flat for storage. This is a genius piece of equipment.
Deni M. –
A genius appliance I did not know I even needed this proofer until I tried it. The Brod and Taylor folding proofer is absolutely wonderful. My bread is consistently well risen and bakes much more reliably with the proofer than without it. It also is a great slow cooker. The ability to make cheese and yogurt are an added bonus. All of this and it is light weight and folds almost flat. The customer service is among the absolute best.
Barbara B. –
Loving My Proofer! I have my proofer on pretty much every day, rotating making Natto, Kefir, Bread and Pizza Dough. It certainly makes my new hobbies Super Easy!
Susie H. –
A Terrific Kitchen Appliance I have expanded my fermentation experiments to desiring to make tempeh and koji which both require even constant temperature and humidity. I had to wait several months to receive the proofer but I’m glad I did. However my husband has taken over the appliance to make his favorite breads!! That’s fine as my turn will come. Meanwhile I can make miso which doesn’t have such a specific temperature. Delighted we purchased it.
Cindy B. –
Great Expensive but worth it. Now I can make perfect bread without worrying about my home temperature
Mindy –
Wonderful! This has been a wonderful addition to my kitchen. I have used it for baking bread and making yogurt. Definitely would advise anyone who is into healthy homemade food to get one.
John –
A super pleased Brod & Taylor folding proofer new user Quite simply an absolutely fabulous device. Quietly efficient and incredibly effective.
Pauline –
Game Changer This simple to use versatile proofer is an absolute game changer if you love making bread, but it doesn’t end there because it has so many other uses! From making yogurt and cheese to slow cooking, keeping food warm, black garlic, the list goes on. So easy to fold and store, but I use it so much that rarely happens! Love this proofer, best purchase!
Della B. –
Folding proofer and slow cooker Perfect tool in keeping your starter and bread proofing to perfect temperature, especially as the weather is getting colder. Excellent customer support as well. Very happy with this proofer and company.
Thomas D. –
Bread Baked Thrice In anticipation of Minnesota’s cold winter weather I purchased your ÒProofer”.
Timothy P.B. –
Game changer!
Lucille S. –
was very pleased with the product the product was excellent and service was quick and effective
Jonah B. –
Works great Heats evenly and consistently. Keeps my sourdough loaves happy when my kitchen is cold.
Shirley B. –
Life Changing I started baking many, many years ago and most recently started baking sourdough bread. Proofing yeast in this slow cooker is mind blowing. I can control the rise and my baked goods are predictable.
Elaine D. –
Folding Proofer & Slow Cooker Wow! Love this proofer. This is everything it is advertised to be. This came well packed. The accompanying Instruction booklet is easy to understand and provides direction on how to use and clean the proofer. The recipe booklet is amazing. It contains recipes for bread, yogurt and slow cooking. The directions for the recipes include charts and step by step instructions. This is a wonderful product. Can’t believe it took me so long to get one! Definitely the best purchase I’ve made!
Michael D. –
Love is owning a proofer from Brod and Taylor. The proofer has surpassed all my expectations. I would recommend this product to any serious home bread makers.
Avis B. –
Stellar multipurpose Appliance! i’ve been wanting this ever since routinizing my sourdough baking (now twice a week). After quarantining for months, it seemed that everyone and their brother’s sister wanted one too; so I had to wait for more stock to arrive. Finally got mine and it fulfills all expectations; especially as it doubles as a yogurt maker when its not proofing bread/focaccia/ciabatta, etc. and so compact! All appliances should

Best spending 2020 Very happy. It worst every penny. Specially for rye starter and rye bread. HasToHaveIt
Paula –
Best Gift EVER I received this amazing proving oven from a dear friend and it has changed my life! I live in a place that has very cold weather and so proving my sourdough starter can be challenging. This oven was recommended by theperferctloaf.com and it is a game changer! Thank you thank you thank you – I can now bake bread all through winter!
Marcus R. –
Like the product. Customer service was excellent.
Amanda S. –
Excellent customer service! I had problems with my proofer. However, I got an almost immediate call back from an engineer. He determined that it has to be replaced. It was easy with no fuss.
Sofnate –
Must have Love my proofed box for all my bread, sourdough as well as panettone baking.
Linda M. –
Great product! Well designed and does just what it’s supposed to do!
Wendy L. –
Bread saver Love this product, no more guess work
Miriam R. –
Top Notch service response I cannot express how much I appreciate your prompt response to my problem. I had to wait since June to get my proofer and it is all I hoped it would be and now that it folds so neatly into itself, it’s so easy to store.
Cherie L. –
Takes away a lot of the guess work The folding proofer is a very well made piece of equipment. It is easy to set up and take down. My sourdough starter loves the consistent temperature and humidity it provides. Since I received it just a week ago, I have only used it for one loaf of sourdough cranberry-walnut bread and it was delicious. I plan to use the proofer this weekend for three more loaves. I’m pleased with my purchase.
Diane S. –
Second one works perfectly My first order worked once and then wouldn’t turn on. I called their customer service and was helped by a delightful young man who arranged for postage paid return of the defective part and immediate shipment of the replacement unit. He also told me about a wonderful baking website and answered my baking questions. Gold star customer service.
Denise F. –
Does the job! I’ve used this twice now and couldn’t be happier with it. It perfectly controls the rise of bread dough. I also love the way it folds into a thin shape that fits easily in my cabinet. Highly recommend this for home bread baking, especially if you keep your home cool in the winter like I do.
Kandace –
Everything I had hoped for! I live in a place where it is rarely the right temperature to proof bread. Most of the time it is way too cold in our house. This makes my life so much easier! I exclusively make all our bread (I don’t buy from the store), so this is a great investment for me! I haven’t had it even a month yet and have already used it so much!
dap –
Very handy item but the accessories are atrociously expensive in Canada The Proofing Box works exactly as promised and is a must-have in the kitchen. That said, the price of $50 CDN for the Accessory Rack cannot be justified, especially as it is less than half that in the USA.
M. R. –
Excellent product! I honestly wish I had this long ago! Great product, easy to use, perfect proofing every time!
Stacy F. –
Amazing This proofing box is a game changer for my bread! Fantastic design.
ERYN H. –
Great for bread proofing; sides need to be taller for kombucha This has really taken my sourdough making to the next level. I love it.
Beth –
Sent it as a gift for xmas
Frederick S.J. –
Great Addition for Sourdough Bread My sourdough bread results have benefited from being able to control the temperature throughout the bread making process with the Brod & Taylor Proofer.
Kristen M. –
Folding Proofer I am so happy that I bought this proofer. I am one of many who started baking sourdough bread during the pandemic. It has been a wonderful addition to my life. But, as the winter cold approaches keeping my dough at a consistent warm temp. has become very difficult. The proofer has taken all the worry out of my bread making. Thank you Brod & Taylor for such a well thought out, energy efficient method of maintaining temperature and humidity. Sure simplifies my day.
Kyle H. –
it’s dank DEFINITELY DANK
Nikki L. –
Proofer and Slow Cooker I was skeptical about this proofer since it folds to near flat. It has more than exceeded our expectations. We kept a thermometer inside while proofing and culturing our sourdough. It kept the temperature steady, no noise, and humidity is perfect! Highly recommend!!!!
Django S. –
good but not the highest quality the metal grill doesn’t seem to fit the rest of the proofer. It firmly rests on the edges but the middle is just suspended over the metal heating surface. When items with any weight are put onto the wire rack, it distorts until the feet touch the bottom. The corners of the extension box that unfolds when in use don’t match very closely, presumably allowing a ton of warm air to escape. I would like it better if the top could hinge up when resting on the extensions when in use. Other than that, my proofing times have been much more consistent and I love having control over fermentation temperatures. It’s good but maybe not worth the price of a premium piece of kitchen equipment.
Carolyn Y. –
I recommend this product. The Brod & Taylor Proofer has worked just like I wished for. It was recommended by The Perfect Loaf. It’s very easy to use and proofing works perfectly when using the product. This purchase has taken all of the guesswork related to temperature out of making sourdough bread.
LD –
Folding Bread Proofer Love this proofer. Came packaged very well and works wonderfully. Even tested the temperature with a thermometer and it was right on!
Kristen D. –
Yes! It works! I needed a way to stabilize temperature and humidity for my breads. This works perfectly. I’m so happy and my bread rose the way it was supposed to! Victory!
Michael L. –
Finally, fluffy bread! Our house tends to be quite cold in the winter months which is really hard on any bread making endeavours. No longer! I have used the proofer several times since it arrived and everything I have put it in had risen wonderfully (babka, hokkaido milk bread rolls, whole wheat bread, english muffin bread). The design is well thought out and the proofer is very simple to set up and use. I have hesitated to purchase one due to the price but I am so happy that I did.
Louise G. –
Perfect I just wish it were a little bigger…..other than that, it works as its says….
Cedric P. –
Works well & folds away conveniently I have only used the proofer for bread so far and it does its job. The dough temperature was almost exactly what I set it up for.
Claudio S. –
Proofer & Slow Cooker Thanks so much for making a great product I use it for bread making an love it plus it so compact for storage love it !!!
Jon P. –
Best Responce Iteme as requested. Super shipping, very fast. I would buy again.
Kenny f.M. –
Works beautfully! I started baking as a teenager in 1972. Baking became my career, which I retired from Oct, 2, 2020. I’ve always baked at home, but, not having a proof box in which to raise the yeast products has always left my results lacking. I found this folding proof box when, out of frustration, I googled proof box. The reviews were good, so I went ahead and bought one. I can’t believe how well it works! It is very well thought out, simple to use, and stores away neatly when folded. My wife gave me “the look” when I told her I was buying it, only because of the storage space she assumed it would take. She has been converted! I doubt if I will use the unit as a slow cooker, but, as a proofing cabinet, it is the cat’s meow!
Eliette L.B. –
I just used it twice so far and it works good for me. This is a product help a great deal with I just used it twice so far and it works good for me. This is a product help a great deal with
cagolfgirl –
So glad I purchased this I started baking sourdough bread this year, and my house during the summer months was just fine, but come the late fall, I no longer could predict how long it would take to perform bread rises, or when the sourdough starter would be ready to use. Starter seems to love temps around 75-79, and my bread rise loves 81 the best. Not only does this proofing box control the temperature, but adds needed humidity at the same time. It folds up flat when not in use, and big enough to rise two 1.5 lbs loaves of bread in their bowls. I just wish I invested in this appliance a couple of months ago.
Ernestina S. –
Brod & Taylor Slow Cooket Thank very good perfect __
John S. –
First Try 12-05-20 today is the first day I have made bread. Prior to the Proofer, I would have warmed the oven a little and proofed it that way. However, this was much simpler. No worries about the temperature too high or low. I do have a question about the folding sides fitting into the lid properly to get a good seal.
Blake S. –
Easy to use A great product and there really isn’t anything like it out there. Compact and easy to use.
Judy G. –
The Proof is in the Proofer I couldn’t be more pleased with my new Brod and Taylor Proofer. I love everything about it: the way it folds and easily stores, how easy it is to use and especially how well my starter and dough work because of the accurate temperature control and humidity feature! I can’t wait to try it when I make my coconut kefir again. I highly recommend this product.
Brandon W. –
Best bread I have made yet. Consistent fermentation every time. Easy to use and setup. I love it!
Clara P. –
Proffer I love the proffer, it is awesome and makes raising my bread so easy! My first proffer worked twice and then would not heat. I called their customer service and was helped by a delightful young man who arranged for postage paid return of the defective part and immediate shipment of the replacement unit. Great company to work with.
Joseph S. –
This provider does exactly what it was designed to do. Easy set up, holds temperature and made a big difference in my bread making
May –
My new favorite gadget! I live on the east coast where summers are hot and humid and winters are cold and dry, and this proofer is the perfect gadget to deal with the weather variances. It easily fits 2 loaf pans or a 6 quart dough bucket, is easy to set up and use (and clean!), and folds flat for convenient storage. I have gifted this to two of my baking friends who have fallen in love with it as well. I don’t cover the dough, but the humidity prevents any crust from forming. I am now looking for excuses to bake, just to be able to use my proofer!
Kathryn E. –
Awesome kitchen addition! Loving the steady temps provided by this wonderful proofer! The starter and dough much prefer it to the 61 degrees of our house in the winter. Pop the walls and off you go! Great to have.
Donna B. –
Love my proofing oven This oven has changed my life with regards to keeping a good starter going. It is the perfect solution to the temperature problem I was having in the kitchen. Since it maintins the temp at which you set it, my bread rises consistently each time. Happy customer!
Bernadette C. –
The item I ordered from you is a Xmas gift for a family member so It has not been opened. So- no feedback for you just yet. Service was very good.
Josh H. –
Great proofer for a cold environment I love this proofer with a great form factor and an easy to use interface. Only downside is that when my apartment is 60 degrees F, I need to set the proofer at 87 degrees F to register 80 degrees F on a thermometer. Seems like the side walls could be a bit better at insulating, otherwise awesome product! Folds flat when I am not using it and large enough to fit all my items with ease. My bread and baking has continued through the winter with ease.
rachel g. –
Proofer Greatly improved results with both bread and yogurt. Construction seems a little flimsy and takes a bit of jiggling to get the lid to line up on the box. Otherwise a great product.
Susan D. –
Could not be happier! Very happy with my Brod and Taylor proofer. Great service, fast shipping and communication ! Highly recommend
David C. –
Really helpful I use it every other day to make bread, brioche, pizza dough and yogurt.
Patricia P. –
Folding Proofer Review This is a great product. Have only had it for less than 2 weeks and already used it to proof bread and make yoghurt. Previously made do with the oven light on. This is so much more precise and easy to use. Very satisfied with this product. Also great that it folds away and can be stored neatly and efficiently.
Gavin C. –
Fabulous The proofer took all the stress out of making a three-stage 70% rye sourdough. I was able to adjust the fermentation temperature for each stage of the process. I love it for my regular sourdough; 21C or the overnight levain, and then 25C for the bulk fermentation and proofing with humidity. A joy to use with great results.
JOAN S. –
Proofer Easy to set up – easy to use. Perfect for the home baker.
Margaret E. –
Brod & TaylorÑexcellent Not only was my Brod & Taylor delivered with excellent care, but I love how this has helped me achieve my goals in baking. No longer guess work. Thank you to ÒCustomer Service Ò for following up on my questions and concerns. Merry Christmas.
Teresa A.C. –
This item is a Christmas gift. You’ll have to await delivery by Santa and use by the recipient before a meaningful response is available
Karen K. –
A simple fix for a vexing problem Hawai’i’s climate is normally compatible with bread proofing and sourdoughh making, but when the nights started getting colder and the daytime temperature wouldn’t heat the house above 78F, bread wasn’t rising. This ingenious device creates the ideal temperature all the time! It is easy to put together and take down, takes up little space, and uses minimal power. I really appreciate it! I hope at some point you will be able to manufacture it in the USA or Canada; I would pay a little extra for a domestic product.
Derek F. –
Incredible customer service My boyfriend wanted to surprise me with the proofed as I had read so many fabulous reviews on numerous sourdough sites online. Unfortunately the proofed was lost in transit and after numerous weeks…he cancelled the order.
Angus F. –
turned my bread game around after i moved into a new house, a much draftier one, i’m sorry to say that my bread game was busted. my bread game was -99 hollowed. i was baking leavened cookies. it was a bad scene. the br¿d & taylor folding proofer and slow cooker has revived my bread game. my bread is voluminous and beautiful again. my boules are bountiful. i can temper chocolate. thank you br¿d
Oscar K. –
Great product! This unit does everything as advertised. Well made and functional.
Michele L. –
Excellent Results This controlled temperature environment is just what I needed in my chilly kitchen. Excellent product.
Michael M. –
Perfect Wife loved it. Has baked seven loaves!

Folding Proofer & Slow Cooker
Ken W. –
Absolute game changer The difference in quality of my proofs with this baby, words can’t describe it! Unbelievable product!!
Gary C. –
everything the gift was to supposed to do, it did Gave the folding proofer to a bread maker who has struggled with proofing due to temp and humidity swings of the northeast. He was ecstatic receiving it and has tried it 2 sourdough loaves and they came out perfectly. Awesome appliance, thanks. Looking forward to more results.
Tod M. –
I love this proofer I’ve never been able to get my bread to rise much since I keep my house on the cold side. I usually put the oven on and put the bread dough near the oven vent to get it to rise at all and it takes a long time With the proofer my bread was fine in a reasonable amount of time. I made the brioche recipe that was in the book that came with the proofer and it was delicious and easy to make. My daughter who went to culinary school said it was very good.
Guen P. –
Great Love this thing. My sourdough ferment is at a nice stable temperature and the crumb is perfect! Easy to use and store.
Felisa S. –
Lovethisthing! Madeanimmediatedifferenceinthequalityofmybakedgoods!TheabilitytoincreasethehumiditywasparticuLarry great.
Linda –
I love it I bought this because my house is cold in the winter. I was having trouble getting my dough to rise. I have made 3 sourdough breads using this proofer and they turned out wonderful. I wish I had bought this several years ago.
ione v. –
please note that accessory folding shelf sent by you via usps on 12/9 has not yet arrived. The unit itself was a much appreciated Christmas gift. 12/29/20
Jaime A. –
Love it! Works perfectly!
Kathleen C. –
Excellent purchase! It changed the way we bake bread! The oven is so convenient and compact! It changed the way we bake bread and made the loaves airier and the crust crunchier! Overall, a wonderful addition to the kitchen!
Janee K. –
Proofing Box Couldn’t be happier with the proofing box. It is a bread baking game changer!
Leda P. –
Awesome I love it, it works perfect, thank you
Nicole N. –
Excellent item. Don’t know how I ever lived without it
Renate W. –
Great Customer service! One side of my folding sides was defective, Brod & Taylor immediately offered to send a new one and I will send back the one I have. No questions, no endless forms to fill out, just old fashioned good customer service. Can’t wait to get my new sides so I can try out the proofer. Sourdough starter is waiting 🙂
NIchole Z. –
Amazing I got this for my husband for Christmas and he LOVES it. Shaved so much time off of bread baking and his bread is greatly improved. He is very pleased with this gift
Joyce S. –
Love it It works like a charm!
WAI H.L. –
Proofing It works but it is better to include a temperature and humidity chart stating the humidity percentage to related temperature.
Alice S. –
Love it! I gave it a 4 because I haven’t used for long and have used it for making bread and that is great since my house colder 67 degrees, but I love it so far and it folds small so you can put away in a small space. Would recommend it for anyone that loves to bake breads __
Scott B.S. –
Great job We got our proofer. On time well done
AJP –
Exactly what we needed! After moving into a new apartment we found that our kitchen tends to be a lot cooler than our old one, leading to some disappointing bakes. I got this for my husband for Christmas and it’s been a huge success. The controls are easy to use and it’s easy to store when it doesn’t have something proofing inside and the first thing we made using it (sticky buns!) rose amazingly even in our cool, dry kitchen.
Barbara –
Fantastic! This is exactly what I needed. Works perfectly!
KIM W. –
could be better designed just received and used so maybe it gets better. Lid does not fit on top very well. directions are pretty vague. do like concept and hope i learn to love it.
M E. –
Finally, some weather control for my sourdough Like everyone else I tried baking sourdough bread during COVID and had tremendous success, then 4 times in a row I had miserable failures. Our house got colder as summer morphed into winter and my proofing times became absurdly long. This proofing box is amazing! I can set it and leave it alone (no more turning oven light on and off to get the right temp inside). It’s very easy to use, just unfold and plug it in. It folds into a slim, self-contained unit that stores easily in with my cookie sheets and roasting pans. I’ve only had it since Christmas, but I’m in love.
Jim J. –
Too early to say
Clark K. –
excellent product This was a Christmas present to my daughter who has a very small farm kitchen and needed something that she could store easily and yet perform for specialty dough. According to early reports this is perfect. It allows her dough to rise in a damp farmhouse and fold away to a perfect size. All thumbs up at this point, I’m going to order one for myself.
William C. –
My Proofer This piece of equipment more than satisfied my expectations. So for I have only used it twice because I just got it but those 2 times produced a wonderfully proofed bread. I live in Maine and couldn’t control proofing temps until now. Verry very happy
Olga M. –
I like this product!
Robin V. –
The answer to my dilemma! I like my home a little cool and trying to get my bread recipes to rise was proving (pun intended) impossible. This proving drawer is working great. My bread has been turning out perfectly and the compact foldable design is truly convenient.
David –
Proofing for sourdough was significantly reduced! Beat looking loaf we have made all year thank to this proofer box!
Douglas M. –
Good product Quick delivery. Works well so far.
Kinga T. –
Amazing product I recommend this product 100%! Really easy to store. Easy to use! Great quality!
Tee –
Great product! This is perfect for proofing bread dough when it’s below zero outside. I’ve been having difficulty getting the bread to rise in the winter here. This product takes all the worry out of it.
Michael M. –
Excellent product! I was given this proofer for Christmas and I just love it! Since I don’t have a proofing drawer, this is exactly what I needed! Would recommend it highly!
John S. –
Great gadget! Finally made a decent sourdough loaf. My house is cold, so the starter was always lethargic. Leaving it at 80F did the trick. It woke it up from being in the fridge as well. It does eat up a good bit of space on the counter, but since it folds up, storage is less of an issue. Cooking a pot roast now, we’ll see how it goes. But works great for the bread proofing alone!
Roni L.S. –
Makes all the difference Comparing the proofing of my sourdough bread before using my new Brod & Taylor and with it is amazing. It is easy to set up and use. I love it.
Mark –
Makes my life easier Works like it’s supposed to.
Paul C. –
Gave it as a Christmas Gift Gave it as a Christmas Gift and its been in use ever since!
DT –
perfect for my needs This product came quickly and is as advertised. My husband bought it for me for Christmas (my request, lol). I only wanted it to be able to have a constant temperature for proofing bread dough in my rather cool kitchen that has two doors to the outside. It is perfect for this. I love that it folds up into a fairly flat shape that I can slide in beside my other appliances for easy storage. I have not tried any of the other functions. Important to note you must make sure you get the sides properly set in the little groove else the heat gets out. Not a problem at all, I was just careless the first time.
Chelsy G. –
Great home for starter I recently the slow proofer for my husband who is a baker at a small cafe. Unfortunately it is next to impossible to control the temperature in the bakery this time of year. So far he has been keeping his starter in the proofer and it’s made a huge difference in the strength and consistency of his bakes. He loves it though hasn’t gotten around to proofing any loafs in it.
Lauren H. –
Does the job beautifully! I have always wanted a product like this – I had no idea it even existed until now. I got one for Christmas and since then I have made half a dozen yeasted breads as well as a batch of yogurt! I am delighted with the job it does, and the fact that it can be stowed conveniently out of sight when I don’t need it.
Mich D. –
Fine proofer and the cord goes where when storing??? Nice unit, worked great on my breads, but then you want to store it. It’s collapses great but there is no place to store the cord, why? It would have been easy to add loop tabs on the bottom as part of the leg design. It’s the fine details that make a product great, verses good or fine. So this product is Fine.
Erin –
Husband loves it! My husband does all the cooking, so he insisted he needed this to make bread. (We live in a Colorado mountain town, so it’s super dry and temperatures are always changing.) I admit, the bread is great. The consistent temperature definitely helps the yeast, and the bread loaves are better and more consistent in texture, rising, etc.
Denise F. –
Hope that it will live up to the reviews by others. I have some burger rolls rising as I type. This is my first time using the proofing box. The first rise was not as rigorous as I anticipated–dough didn’t double and yes, my yeast proofed as it normally does. I know the instructions say that it doesn’t matter what the house temp is, but we shall see. :-/
Elizabeth B. –
Folding Proofer I’m loving this proofer so far. Good quality, easy assembly, and foldable, so it takes up little space when not in use.
Barbara S. –
Folding Proofer I used the Proofer for the first time last evening and when I checked on my dough this morning, everything looked fine. I think I have a winner here. I also put my sourdough starter into the Proofer along with the bread dough and it rose beautifully. I am hoping that going forward my doughs will proof as nicely as my dough did just now. I am looking forward to using this Proofer As a regular part of my bread making routine. It is really so important to proof your dough in a temperature controlled environment, wow really impressive.

OMG – proofer, slow cooker and CHEESECAKE MAKER! I have had my proofer for almost a year. Within two days of receiving this appliance my slow cooker stopped working. Fortunately, I had the proofer, so I quickly set it up, put the pan in, and kept my fingers crossed that it would work. No worries; it was absolutely perfect! My husband thought it might work wonders on a cheesecake, so we tried that out within the first week of having the proofer. It took hours to set, but the smoothness was unequaled. I did another one yesterday, this time using an old familiar recipe. It took 6.5 hours to set, using the highest slow cooker setting. Today we sliced into it, and it was hands-down the best texture we have ever had in this cheesecake. I would absolutely recommend exploring this idea further. Oh, and yes, I pull it out often to proof bread; as others have stated it provides an even temperature for rising, no matter the time of year. I’ve done sourdough, no-knead, dinner rolls, multi-grain, and cinnamon rolls, among other types. I cannot imagine going back to my old way of doing things!
Dennis M. –
first time use. I recently used the Brod &Taylor Proffer for the first time. It decreased the time it took to proof the bread and the loaves of bread came out of the oven looking better than using the water bath method. The only drawback is the power cord can not be stored in the unit.
Joyce N. –
Christmas gift to son and daughter in law Made a loaf of wheat bread It turned out wonderful
Zoe P. –
Good Product It really helped us with the bread making, especially in the winter time.
Richard F. –
Works with great precision I purchased this specifically for proofing my (wild yeast) panettone doughs which require long 12-14 hour proofs. Being a biochemist, I put the product specs to the test with a few thermo probes in my dough and this proofer temp control is spot on perfect. I could not be happier and it has made life in our chilly kitchen so much easier now that we have consistent rise times and controlled temperatures. It’s quite light and can be lifted with one hand making it easy to move around if necessary and we love the fact it folds to about the size of a briefcase for storage. How nice to find a gadget that works as promised. We make a variety of bread on a routine basis and this proofer is going to get a lot of use. If they ever do a version 2.0, would love to have a unit that can hold a standard 12″ x 18″ sheet pan. Thank you for making a great product.
Celeste I.J. –
Folding proofer Use I am very pleased with this purchase. I bought it to proof bread. Prior to my purchase, my proofing options were room temperature (20C) and the oven bread proofing function which I tested to be about 115 F. It is easy to assemble and use and does the job I want it to do.
Paul H. –
Great Bread Proofer Never used it to slow cook anything but my bread rises more predictably.
Linda R. –
Love it Because temperature is such a key Ôingredient’ in sourdough bread, this appliance helps tremendously especially during the winter months. Highly recommend it.
Deb –
I __ my proofer! This proofer has really made my baking processes so much easier. My kitchen in Fall & Winter is difficult to heat to optimum temperatures for proofing bread or keeping my sourdough starter happy. This proofer has now enabled me to make cinnamon buns & other enriched doughs light & fluffy, and it reduces my proofing time. A great product and I definitely recommend it. Being able to fold it down after use and tuck it away is a bonus.
Melanie F. –
Amazing results I love it and should have bought it sooner ! Gives amazing results. My sourdough starter is much stronger being kept at a constant temperature and my breads are way more consistent.
Barbara O. –
Worked for one day. I will change my review when I receive a working proofer. Customer service was prompt and courteous. I’ll cross my fingers and hope that my new one comes soon.
Jim C. –
Worth the wait After ordering the proofer, I waited several months for it to be manufactured and shipped, it was well worth the wait! I live in the US Pacific Northwest where is it cold for many months of the year and being near the coast my house never gets to “room temperature” required for proofing breads. after receiving my B&T proofer I am a proofing and baking machine. it is easy to clean and store when not in use. I would highly recommend this proofer to anyone amateur or professional for home use.
Rose R. –
Love my new Brod & Taylor Proofer So nice having a consistent temperature.
Christina W. –
Where have you been all my life 🙂 OMG, this is awesome, it has been a game changer in my bread baking, I now can make bread faster than waiting for hours, absolute love it.
carole t. –
problem solver gives me a constant temp for my sourdough ferment and rising requirements for baking bread…. especially for this time of year when my wood stove fire goes out at night, and the house cools down!! I haven’t explored other uses yet, but something to look forward to doing!!.
Josh B. –
Exceeds Every Expectation I anxiously awaited my proofer/slow cooker and it did not disappoint. The design is deceptively simple, and yet I’m continually amazed at the level of temperature control I’m able to achieve. It also retains a relatively cool temperature on the outside, even when the temperature is maxed out on the slow cooker setting. The device is very compact when folded, fitting nicely in my (very small) kitchen cabinets. And the set up could not be easier or more intuitive. The proofing function has changed the way I make bread (sourdough… brioche… pizza dough… literally everything has improved!). I have also had success using it to make clotted cream (a treat I haven’t enjoyed since moving home from the U.K.) and the most beautiful tempered chocolate I’ve ever been able to achieve in my own kitchen. I’ve read complaints about the plug placement, and I agree. But the awkwardness of the plug is no reason to eschew the amazing functionality of this appliance.
Mike I. –
Secret Sourdough Weapon I love this! Much more consistent results with starter development and maintenance, and great proofing results.
April R. –
Brod & Taylor Proofer and Slow Cooker I saved for quite a while to get this proofer for bread making. I’m happy to say that this proofer is worth every penny that I paid. It works great and saves me so much time when making bread. I make at least 4 loaves per week, and before I got the proofer it took nearly 2 hrs for my large recipe for dough to rise. I appreciate that it now takes less than an hour to rise. Not to mention the fact that it folds away so conveniently, for out-of-sight storage. I definitely recommend this proofer from Brod & Tayler. I love it!
Kit S. –
Just what I needed! Living where it gets cold in the winter, the indoor temperature is cool and dry and my bread just wasn’t working. The proofer is just what I needed. My bread is rising perfectly again. Plus I like not having to cover the dough. It folds away nicely when not in use.
Andrew M. –
Great product Works better than I had hoped bread comes out much better
Jessie W. –
Four stars Great product, although sometimes the lid doesn’t close properly or at all when closing it up for storage. Other than that it’s great.
Ellen G. –
Folding Proofer My bread Baking has improved since using Brod & Taylor’s folding proofer. I’ve starting using it for yogurt as well. For both, it helps to be able to control the temperature. It couldn’t be easier to set up, and when collapsed, it slips conveniently into a cupboard.
Theresa P. –
Awesome!!! Total game changer for bread makers!
Robert B. –
Incredibly Effective And Well Designed Product This Proofer does a superb job enabling dough to rise to perfection. The product is well-designed, well-built, easy to use and easy to store. The price is a perfect example of “getting what you pay for”. If you do dough … this will greatly improve your success.
JRG –
Game Changer! I’ve been working on my sourdough bread during quarantine and had trouble getting consistent results. This proofer and a digital thermometer have given me consistent and repeatable results and really helped UP the quality of my bread making. And my wife uses it to make delicious yogurt too.
Sebastien P. –
Simple and amazing Fast delivery, easy to use and reliable. Nice design.
Tom B. –
Great Product – If you’re baking bread that needs to rise regularly My only complaint would be that there isn’t a place to stow the powercord when it’s all folded up. The folding design is great otherwise, but then you have this power cord you have to find a place to put and I haven’t yet but it’ll get put somewhere wrong place or something and then you have to dig to find it vs it folding up/wrapping up somewhere when you collapse it and put it down.
Pat –
Love, love, love Living in the Midwest is not very conducive to proofing bread in the winter. This proofer has give me my bread mojo back!! Recommend to anyone.
Kwan G. –
Great product and customer service We initially received the product and the lid was not fitting properly. The customer service was wonderful and a replacement was sent immediately. The replacement worked perfectly. My husband loves it!! Thanks again..
Stephanie W. –
Proofing sourdough I love it! It is helping me maintain consistent and proper temperature for proofing my homemade sourdough bread.
Carol P. –
Worth every dollar! I really love my proofing box! It has become an essential tool in my kitchen. I use it on a weekly basis, and it does exactly what its supposed to do. I don’t know how I did without it for so long.
Paul S. –
Fantastic! I love my proofing box! It does exactly what I wanted – fast and easy rises, consistently.
Carlos G. –
Necessary Piece of Equipment for your Bread baking. The proofer works well and maintains a constant temperature. Its is super easy to set up and break down. I reviewed the proofer on my Zoey & The Moon Baby YouTube channel. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xXxeNb3GXbo&ab_channel=ZoeyTheMoonBaby
Taylor G. –
Amazing 24/7 this thing runs, holding my starter or fermenting a batch of bread or pizza, also allows me to properly proof my baguettes, croissants, loafs, & buns
Alfred D.G. –
Great Results! I got the proofer / slow cooker for culturing salt rising bread starter at 95 F. It worked great for that but I also use it for feeding sourdough starter and rising breads at 80 F or so. Faster and very nice results. Easy to use. I would definitely recommend one for anyone who routinely makes bread.
Chris B. –
Love it! perfect bread proofer for my needs
Tera N. –
Game changer for sourdough bakers that are tired of inconsistent results. I have been baking sourdough for almost a year with mixed results. I felt like I was constantly running around my house looking for the warmest room, often leaving my dough in weird places like the bathroom. I asked for this proofing box for Christmas and it has made my life so much easier. I am still doing trial and error to find the best times and temps for my various recipes, but it’s so nice knowing that once I nail it, it will be perfectly replicable, regardless of time of year and weather conditions.
Timothy R. –
Bread has never been better Brings your bread making skills to the next level. Love it.
David M. –
Excellent Excellent addition to bread maker’s tool kit. Well made and reliable but it could use some way of storing or attaching the power cord when the proofer is folded up for storage.
Bradley G. –
Brod & Taylor Proofer Game changer! Love it!!! Having a steady temp for bilk proofing my sourdough is a game changer!!!!
Brigetta O. –
It worked like a charm
Theresa S. –
Just what I was needing In the cold winter months the has made my breads so much more reliable. I also love how it folds down
YAN Y. –
Like it It allows me to make bread very easily and saves a lot of time
Michael –
My first proofer I am amazed at it. Finally I have a consistent place for proofing.
Claire K. –
Just perfect I love love love my folding proofer & slow cooker. I’ve used it almost everyday since making milk keifer and other ferments and it works perfectly. I haven’t yet used it for slow cooking but I’m almost positive it’ll be great!
Travis K. –
Works great, not super sturdy walls, but very nice that it folds and stores easily.
Jody C. –
Works great I have used this for both proofing and slow cooking with good results on both. My house is always very cold and so this helps me greatly. Being able to fold this for easy and space saving storage is a plus, although I do wish the cord stored in the closed unit.
Leigh (.L. –
Very handy kitchen tool i have for many years tried during the cooler weather to get my bread dough to rise, with little luck even with the oven working all day doing my weekly baking. I made a loaf of bread within days of my B&T folding proofer arriving, there was a marked difference. This loaf of bread was much lighter than has been the cold weather loaves from the past. I look forward to many more.
Sue B. –
Awesome It’s works fantastic! Fold away perfect!!
Christina E. –
Sourdough Starter Success I absolutely love this amazing device in my baking and cooking tool box!. My old house never gets as warm as my sourdough starter wants so it sulked until I bought your dough proofer. Haven’t used it as a slow cooker yet but I will!. My mother( starter) thanks you and so do I!.
Christina C. –
Takes the guesswork out of proofing dough I use this exclusively for proofing dough (mostly sourdough). Living in New England the house is not as warm as one would believe and it can take up to 12 hours to proof the dough. With this proofing box the time is cut to 4-1/2 hours and its perfect. A little expensive but I feel it’s worth it.
Dawn P. –
Love it! This proofer works well, is easy to store and really helps provide a consistent environment for proofing bread.
Sara C. –
Great Product! My husband and I bake all our own bread. Whether for sourdough or regular yeast loaves, the Brod & Taylor proofing box delivers consistent and superior resultsÑand leaves the oven free for other tasks, while the bread rises. Could not recommend more highly!
John J. –
Great machine Every bread maker should have one of these machines. Absolutely makes bread making easier.
Penny M. –
Very pleasantly surprised We are continually surprised with what a difference this tool has made in our bread making abilities!
Theresa N. –
LOVE Made my bread making so much more predictable and stress free. Love the way it folds down so it doesn’t take up space in my kitchen. Easy to use.
Debbo –
Love this proofer! I’m somewhat new to baking and having an older kitchen, it’s impossible to prove anything correctly. This is making my life so much easier. Sets up quickly and is easy to store in its folding position. It does exactly what it says – proofs at a consistent even temperature. Am very happy with it and looking forward to in the future moving forward with more complicated baking recipes.
Cheryl G. –
Awesome!!! Love love love my extra rack!!!
Tim B. –
Loving it so far! Does a great job with my starter and my yogurt; hoping to try some other things with it soon.
Chris G. –
Works like a charm! Easy to setup and very consistent. I’ve been making bread for the past several weeks and my new proofer makes for consistent rises and active starter!
Dustin B. –
Great Product! Made the sourdough process much easier.. I like my house on the colder side and it always made it harder to stay on top of my starter/rise. Couldn’t be happier..
Lisa B. –
A real game changer for my baking! A a resident of the Midwest, my house is often cold which always resulted in either absurdly long proofing times (think 2-3 times the recipe time to double in size), or under proofed breads and rolls. After getting this proofer that has all changed, and it is amazing. My breads are fluffier and taller than ever. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who bakes bread or rolls on a regular basis.
Ken T. –
Takes the guessing out I moved from NYC to Denver and was having a difficult time correcting my proofing and bake times for the altitude and lack of humidity. Since I’ve started using the folding proofer I’ve yet to have a bad bake. The fact that it folds flat enough to store in a drawer makes it even better.
Jeff C. –
Love this thing It works great. I could not ask for more. Maintains the temp so I don’t have to worry.
Don S. –
Works like a charm. I’ve made bread for quite a few years and found the proofing stage to be a stumbling block due to it being too cold or getting hot spots. My compact proofing box from Brod & Taylor is my perfect solution. Compact, easy to use and I get my bread to rise to exactly where I want it. Both thumbs up.
Raymond R. –
Could NOT Be Happier with the Proofer If you are looking to bring your bread baking up a notch, this is what you want. By precisely controlling the environment during primary fermentation and then again during proofing one can tinker with recipes to get exactly the results you wish. If, in the winter, you have a cold, drafty houseÑthis is a godsend. It folds up nicely so that it can be stored in a smaller space (I keep mine in the small, otherwise useless space between the top of my refrigerator and the bottom of the cupboard above). When expanded it is large enough for my needs (including taking my largest Dutch oven without a problem). I can’t recommend it enough!
Houston D. –
LOVE IT Was not able to proof bread properly in the winter until now.
Carl W. –
Very Reliable I love it! I’ve tried pizza dough and yogurt. Both did well. I’m going to try a sourdough bread this weekend.
Lynn P. –
Great product for proofing bread in my 65 degree house But the slow cooker function is a little slow. Still it is great because I can use a regular pot and can sautŽ in it before I finish it in the slow cooker. The design is genius and the ordering and shipping experience were first rate.
Tina P. –
So pleased with my purchase. The B&T proofer is all I expected it to be. Takes care of one more variable in my bread making.
Peter K. –
Excellent product Very easy to use and very useful.
Vickie A. –
The Perfect Koji Maker! I bought the Brod & Taylor Proofer and Slow Cooker to grow koji spores for cooking and it’s the best I have ever used. The temperature stays very even and it has a broad array of temperature settings. Its perfect for proofing bread and I love the slow cooker. I can use my own pot and just cook a meal all day using the slow cooker setting. The whole thing folds up and doesn’t take much room to store too. I love it!
Brett B. –
For the best artisan loaves, choose something as foolproof as this. I have turned out some of my best loaves using this product. Hands down, not having to mess with oven temps and cycling hot water in and out of conventional ovens has been a huge time saver, and the results really show in the quality of my bakes!
Eric C. –
Proofer & Slow Cooker Have been using the proofer to aid my bread making. We keep our house cool and the ability to have a controlled temperature chamber improves the fermentation and proofing steps and makes everything more consistent.
Michelene K. –
Hi! Can I just ask something? It’s been quite warm nowadays here in manila. Been using the proofing box at 26C setting and noticed that the dough seems to puff up quite quickly. Checked the interior and found it to be higher at 29C, akmost same as the ambient temp. How come?
Donna M.G. –
Money well spent! I don’t know why I didn’t buy this ages ago, I’m so very happy now that I finally did, it’s been a great help in my baking now it has surely improved because of it! I will highly recommend this proofer to anyone looking to up their baking.
Doughboy –
Finally My Breads Rise As Expected Perfect proofing equipment for the home baker in cold New England
Jigar P. –
Works perfectly I use this regularly for bread baking and it cuts down on proofing times so much for cold Montreal winters.
Sultan A. –
Must Have to Bake Breads If you are serious about Bread Baking and want to really do it well, you must have this proofer!
Deborah A. –
For the Love of Bread and Yogurt LOVE, LOVE , LOVE, THIS UNIT. MAKES MAKING BREAD, INCLUDING SOUR DOUGH BREADS AND YOGURT A PURE PLEASURE. I HAVE OWNED MINE FOR TWO YEARS NOW AND IT HAS BECOME ONE OF MY FAVORITE KITCHEN APPLIANCES I OWN, AND I HAVE MANY. I HAVE ALSO USED IT TO TEMPER CHOCOLATE BUT HAVE NOT USED IT AS A SLOW COOKER OR for ANY OF ITS OTHER USES. WELL WORTH THE PURCHASE!
Nataliya M. –
I love the product. Thank you so much!
Denise W. –
The best gift! I received the proofer from my husband for my birthday in February. He probably got tired of me climbing around the cupboards with a thermometer always looking for a warm draft-free spot to raise bread. I never imagined what a joy it would be to use this proofer. It is easy to use and I’ve had nothing but success since I started using it!
Claude G. –
Just love it I bought this proofer mainly for tempeh. I tried it and I just love it.. The temperature is well maintained and the tempeh take less time to grow than in my old system. In less that 28 hours, I have well grown fragrant fresh tempeh.
Chuck H. –
An excellent product I have been very happy with my Folding Proofer & Slow Cooker from Brod & Taylor Canada. The order came through in timely fashion, and the Proofer has been in nearly constant use since purchase. Excellent results in both bread and yoghurt making to date!
Susan N. –
Folding proofer This seems to work well. Even though the folding part is not airtight, it does not use much electricity. I did not give this 5 stars because the lid is not hinged when the box is in use so it is awkward to lift the lid and put something inside.
J.S. –
Can’t fit a normal sheet pan I really love this my only large complaint is that it can’t fit a normal half sheet Pan. Really annoying when making rolls! Since it folds I would think about getting a new one if it was slightly larger!
Melody F. –
I love it!! This proofer is a game changer for bread baking. I absolutely love it. It allows me to proof at the perfect temperature, no matter the weather, and no matter the temperature of my kitchen. And it folds up so easily and stores out of sight. I am thrilled with the proofer and excited for the baking projects it allows me to try!
Sonya B. –
Perfect proofed! It has always been a challenge to get consistent temperature; morning to night and with drafts as folks open and close doors! Problem solved. Now I have consistent sourdough timing and results. This product helps remove one of the variables to good bread!
Debbie N. –
Love it I do love this proofing box, it is awesome! I’m thinking i might just use it also to germinate my spring vegetable seeds! The temp is consistent and makes a huge difference in the starter and rising of dough. However i’m not crazy about how the lid fits on. It should have a hinge or something. For $169, i expected it to be better made
Avraham R. –
THE ULTIMATE NATTO MAKER I would give this PROOFER ten stars if possible. It is in constant use here.
James H. –
Excellent product The proofer works perfectly and meets or exceeds all my expectations.
Judy G. –
Excellent Best bang for the buck. Wish had found years ago. Love it.
Brigitte T. –
Wonderful Used it mostly for proofing bread dough. Can’t imagine living without it now! Next step will be using it for yogourt.
Glory S. –
Works great! My kitchen is too cold for starting sourdough starter &/or proofing bread, but this box is the solution. It folds up easily to save space, but it’s lovely on the counter most always. It’s large enough for several items, but doesn’t use too much energy. Functional and pleasant in appearance: love the window on top. Also, customer service has been very nice answering all my questions. It was an investment in my breadmaking, and may currently be most consistent aspect of that endeavor. Glad to have it.
Patricia S. –
How Did I Live Without This??? Most used item in my kitchen! Efficient, easy to use and clean, folds flat for storage (not that it spends much time there).
Janlou –
So much fun!!! I love my proofer and have been busy baking bread & buns for my family! Everything has turned out beautifully and I don’t know how I’ve managed without this proofer up until now. I find that I have to set the temperature to about 105 degrees in order to get it warm enough for a good bread rise. Maybe it’s because we live in the mountains of British Columbia. Thank you Brod & Taylor!
Jonathan I. –
Versatile I use the proofer for sourdough and seedlings. Looking forward to trying yogurt!
DM –
Made my life easier! I love this proofer. Before this I had to use my oven and even with towel in the door it was too hot. Makes a huge difference baking sourdough bread!!!
Jenny R. –
Happy Customer Buying this proofer has mad all the difference to my bread making, I was just about to give up. I love the fact that it is compact and folds away. We live in an apartment which seems to be too cool for bread making. All my problems solved now. I also find the Country Bread Recipe is perfect for a beginner.
Margaret M. –
Folding Proofer and Slow Cooker Review I have been very happy with the results to date, and have been able to bake a consistently good sourdough. Storage is also great with the collapsing design, which has meant we can just place the proofer in the drawer. Also handy to take in the caravan.
Denise L. –
Brod &Taylor bread proofing very satisfied, thank you
Robert W. –
Great Proofer My bread and rolls are so much more consistent now with the proofer. It is absolutely great. And my 13″ Pain de Mie pan fits inside easily. So do quarter-sized sheet pans. Excellent product!!
Beaver V. –
It’s everything I hoped for. Makes keeping dough at a perfect temp. Easy to use and store. I love it.
Jim F. –
Finally, consistent proofing For the first time, I’ve been able to proof my sour dough and pizza dough with consistent results. This has been a game changer. I’m looking forward to using the slow cooker function in the future.
Kath –
Lovely It works perfectly
David B. –
Nice design I like the unit very much, it works for proofing, haven’t tried slow cooking yet.+
Christine R. –
Amazing! This is a game changer. My bread rises higher and faster than ever. Where has this been my whole life?
Mina P. –
Great It’s to my expectations
Ethan M. –
Game changer! My bread game is on a new level with this proofing box. Sourdough that looks like the cover image of a cook book, sandwich loves with beautiful rise over a 4″ pan edge, and airy cibatta. Not to mention rise times are shorter and controlled. Highly recommend.
Joyce M. –
I have only had the opportunity to use my new proofer once since receiving it and I think it is wonderful. I am looking forward to many years using my Brod & Taylor proofer. I am impressed with the quality and that it folds up for easier storage. A great product
Eric A. –
great product I wish the
Jane B. –
Love my new proofer The proofer has done everything I hoped for. It keeps a consistent temperature, and moist environment for bread making. It’s big enough to hold 2 loaves of bread. It collapses to a short height that fits in a shelf under the counter. Love it!
Marvin T. –
Happy Happy Happy!!!!!’ I am so pleased with my folding proofer. I could tell the difference in my bread loafs the very first time I used it. I live in the Chicago area and temperature fluctuates within hours to affect the proofing of my dough. I no longer have to worry about this anymore. My dough raises higher and faster. It is well worth the money. My suggestion to Broad & Taylor is to make a case to store the proofer. I know it folds but I want it protected when it is not in use. This is a great and useful product. Every baker needs one.
Garvin S. –
Wonderful Bread! Love this product. When unfolded, I have plenty of room for my big bread bowl. When folded, it takes up very little space. The controlled temperature and humidity mean I get consistent results.
Juanita M. –
Slow cooking I tried using a clay pot for a roast and it took 3 days. Finally had to place in the oven. Does not seem to get hot.
lowell s. –
Best buy of the year! Nuch research was done after getting into sour dough breads etc. Love the simplicty and friendliness of operation. Compact storage adds creme to the creme!
Susan S. –
Gift for my husband He loves his proofer. We had no place in our home to let bread rise and our new stove doesn’t have the right temps. I love that it folds up and we have room in our kitchen to store it. What a great product!
Kevin B. –
Good product I like it perfect for a cold environment. I do wish that it could be bigger.
Dorinne T. –
Bread dough made easy With the Brod & Taylor proofing box, I no longer have to figure out how to manage the temperature for proofing my sourdough. Plus it folds and can be neatly stored out of the way when I’m not using it. And yes, I do store my starter in between bread production.
Gordon B. –
Bread’s a Rising We have always kept our house around 65-67 deg in the winter and its tough to get bread to rise at those temperatures. I have been making sourdough bread and it rises best within a temperature range of 70-75 deg. Our new Brod & Taylor proofer is perfect for this as we can dial in the exact temperature desired and get consistent results. When you are done it’s a snap to fold up and put away. We love it!
Lee W. –
Simple and accurate tool. Don’t ask me, ask my bread dough, which always rises to the occasion.
Mary W. –
Successful bread rise Love the proofer. Bread rise worked perfectly. Awkward trying to get water tray placed and removed without spilling.
Joel D. –
The Real Deal Love this thing. Been working flawless since I purchased it. Looking around carefully for a while and this was pretty much the only game around if you wanna do it right. So far it has not let me down. Highly recommended. The company themselves seem really awesome too. Responsive customer service, good folks, etc..
Kevin N. –
Dual Functionality Love that you can toss a dutch oven in it and use it like a slow cooker with great precision. We’ve made roast and corned beef in it and it’s some of the most tender meat. Also, it’s been great for getting consistent outcomes with bread. Look forward to other uses.
Cindy L. –
Works great I have only used this as a bread proofer so far. My house is always on the cooler side and making breads has been a challenge. Not anymore. Easy to set up and use anywhere in my house. Can’t wait to try out making other things with it. Love that it folds up.
Dawn C. –
Dawn proofer Just love it I have been making perfect bread it is wonderful fer slow cooking thank you so much
Jackie B. –
Essential for bread bakers I absolutely love this bread proofer. It is easy to use and store and guarantees a perfect loaf of bread every time. My two standby breads are a multigrain sourdough and an artisan bread. I bake bread once or twice a week and would not if it wasn’t for this proofer.
Dave W. –
Basically happy I like the fold-away design of this proofer. I have not used it in slow cooker mode. In proofing mode, I don’t know quite what to think. I have not tracked temperature stability; however, I have noticed that the contents of a jar can be significantly lower than setting, depending on ambient temperature. This is mentioned in the manual for “dry proofing.” I’d still like a way to set it so that the contents reach the temperature I need! Also, if this is not possible then the device is over priced.
Brittnee –
If you are on the fenceÉjust do it I could not get my sourdough bread to turn out correctly until I got this proofer! It has been so helpful in helping to maintain the temperature of my dough! It folds up nicely and is beyond easy to use. I dragged my feet to buy this because of the price and just the idea that I may not need it. But I am so glad i just did it.
Eric –
Excellent product Great space-saving design that makes proofing bread dough and starters so much easier, especially during winter or colder conditions. Gives you precise control over temperatures to give you the results you want.
Robert S. –
Folding Proofer This folding proofer box is my best investment for working with sourdough and for making yogurt. It creates the perfect environment for sourdough starter and yeast to work in. No more waiting and depending on room environment when you have this Proofing Box!!!
Mark B. –
Perfect gift for foodies I bought my first proofer several years ago and it’s been a wonderful tool in helping me perfect my breads. And it’s so practical for people with smaller kitchens. I liked it so much that I started buying these proofers as gifts; this latest one was my fourth purchase and everyone who gets one is delighted.
John T. –
Great Proofing box I was a little skeptical, but after watching Joshua Weissman, I bought it. Tested it against proofing dough in an oven with the light on. The rise from the bread in the B&T proofer was substantially better. I’m convinced.
Christine D. –
game changer I am so pleased with my proofer. Like many people,I have taken to baking sourdough bread as a stress relief for this pandemic. The proofer has helped with consistency and my crumb has gotten so much better. Thank you!
Craig M. –
Cool Tool! Everything works perfectly as advertised; we love it’s ability to fold up into a great little compact package! Thank you for an efficient, plus fun, product. Millers
Jane P. –
Proofer for easy & trouble free bread rising Bread rises easily in this proofer without the fuss of water in a microwave or oven. In a virtual bread making class I took, someone spilt water on her oven window breaking it. Could have bought a number of proofers for that expense. This proofer contributes to timely, easy & pleasant bread making.
Gerry S. –
Use it exclusively for proofing and works very well
Barbara A. –
Love the Proofer I ordered the proofer to make my own bread and didn’t expect the yogurt-making capability. This is a very useful and versatile piece of equipment that I am glad to have.
Deborah R. –
Best ever gift! I’m fairly new…1 year of sourdough baking. I would not give up my proofer! It has made such a difference in my baking, I no longer spend time trying to find the perfect warm spot. My focaccia bread is so fluffy and amazing as are all my other bakes have been.
Rebecca D. –
Glad I finally bought one. I am so glad I finally bought a Folding ProoferÑit makes sourdough timing MUCH more predictable, both for feeding the starter and for bulk proofing the dough. Works well with yeast doughs also.
Kate E. –
Bread making made a lot easier Easy to assemble. Just set the temperature and go! I don’t worry about humidity level, drafts or temperature anymore. It is large enough to set a Dutch oven inside. Worth every penny.
janice s. –
A joy for cooler kitchens! I love my Brod & Taylor Proofer. Now I can consistently get the results I need, regardless of the time of year in my cooler kitchen.
Kelly W. –
Bread Proofer My husband loves his Proofer! He is back to making bread again!
Wendy M. –
Perfect proofing! No more oven-light proofing. This takes away the guesswork and headache. Love that it folds easily, saving my minimal kitchen countertop space. Also live the size which easily takes my largest mixing bowl. No negatives and highly recommend .
SCOTT F. –
Absolutely great !!!! Company was great to work with. Really knew their product, very friendly and helpful.
Brandon T. –
Excellect Product Consistent temperture proofing has really improved my bread making. Build quality is quite good no issues with it thus far.
Jan M. –
Best Purchase I’ve Made in a Long Time I use the bread proofer at least once a week–usually even more often than that. It’s obviously great for proofing dough but also works well for fermenting Creme Fraiche. I have even used it to soften butter a couple of times when it’s been left on the counter after proofing dough.
Margaret W. –
Brilliant Fabulous product. Finally I am able to control the temperature to enable my sourdough starter to build and the dough to strengthen through the folding process. The resulting bread is reliably sensational. Yet to try yoghurt!
Deb W. –
Great proofer! No more guessing and hoping my sourdough will be risen by morning. This bread proofer gives me consistency when working with my dough. Anything that takes the guesswork out of bread making is a huge plus in my book. It is easy to use and stores nicely. I love the proofer and have already recommended it to my fellow bread makers.
Celeste D.S. –
Great product… I’m in love with this proofer…
Amy –
Love it I love this product. Since my house is very cold, I have been struggle proofing and rising my bread until I found this product. I don’t need to wait for hours after hours. But, I wish second shelf is included with the proofer as it is very expensive. Also, I wish they can have baking tray which is same size as proofer, so I can take my bread out and put it in the oven directly. I am having hard time finding same size baking tray as my proofer.
J.R. –
enjoying this appliance Getting the temp you want, when you want makes a big difference. At least that is what I learned after getting this proofer. I get great results with my bread starter, and a couple different bread recipes so far. Really enjoying this appliance.
Rena S. –
Disappointed My kitchen is too cold for sourdough proofing. By the time I decided to get a Brod & Taylor proofer, there was none to be found due to the pandemic so I made my own using an insulated bag and a seedling grow pad. It worked ok for the $70 cost but was not as accurate as I wanted.
BeanBoy –
Handy Bakeing Tool Folds out to impressive size box. But not quite big enough for two Large 6 cup muffin pans, so ordered your collapsible shelf. Proofed dinner rolls for maiden first run. Perfect rise. Appreciate compact design for storage. Great product.
John H. –
Sourdough I wanted a temperature of 83-84 for making sourdough bread. In order to get that I had to set the temperature at 80. It holds the temperature at 83-84 very well, though.
Christiane Y. –
Excellent proofer It does the job of proofing well and is light and so easy to move around.
Brenan S. –
Couldn’t be happier! This is one of those things that’s so well engineered that unfolding it and setting it up is fun. It’s exactly the right size for most of my containers and bowls, and it’s completely silent.
Tina I. –
Folding proofer I’m so glad that I purchased this folding proofer. It really made a big difference with my sourdough starter. I been making a lot of sourdough bread and this was the best investment that I did. It made so much easier for me. Thank you!!
M. S.F. –
Amazing! I asked for my husband and son to buy this product for me for Mother’s Day. I had been contemplating buying it for a while, so this seemed like the perfect gift. We live in an old semi-detached home and it can be very tricky to find a good spot to proof my bread. Also, had tried making a sourdough starter before I received this proofer and nothing had happened (probably because the house gets too cold at night).
J S. –
Perfect for working with chocolate truffles Use this to keep colored cocoa butter warm. Keeps tempered chocolate warm and in temper. More affordable than other products. So far so good. Highly recommend!
Robert H. –
Life Changing I no longer have to used the furnace room, oven light, or dishwasher plate warmer to proof dough since I was gifted your brilliant proofer. I made yogurt for the first time and it was effortless knowing it was processing at the correct temperature. I love the folding convenience, but since I received it on Mother’s Day, I’ve not put it away!
R. N. –
Excellent to natural yeast Folding Proofer & Slow Cooker Has fulfilled its purpose. I am satisfied with the product.
Gerald V.L. –
Consistency!!! Brilliant engineering and design.
Sheila T. –
Very easy to use and makes a difference by ensuring consistent temps for proofing. My bread never tasted or looked better.
Jerry H. –
Love this product. Works great, made bread and pizza dough. Dough rose just like it should. Best thing is I didn’t have to tie up my stove proofer. Our kitchen is small so the fact that this is compact makes it perfect for us.
Lorraine –
Well pleased I bought the folding proofer to improve my results with sourdough bread. I had been getting mixed results using standard methods and was frustrated that I wasn’t being consistent. I followed the recipe in the instruction book and am very pleased with the result. I am now confidant that I can continue to improve my bread making.
Jo –
Convenient solution This appliance is very convenient as I no longer have to heat my kitchen when making bread. It is expensive for what it is but it does make baking less hit and miss.
Inga S. –
Great addition to my baking equipment! I am really pleased with the acquisition of my Brod and Taylor proofer. Keeping a constant temperature when you’re proofing can be problematical and my proofer does that for me. I’ve used it quite a few times since I bought the product a few weeks ago. It’s very good for helping to grow my sourdough
Allan –
How did we live without it? Brilliant proofer, used for keeping cheese warm (my wife makes cheese and some needs to be kept warm overnight), proving my bread – makes it easy to raise retarded sourdough within three hours, and making yoghurt. Super easy to setup and use and super easy to store. Haven’t yet tried the slow cooking mode but looking forward to giving it a go soon.
Peter M. –
Works perfectly Was having trouble trying to get bread proved through a very cool winter. Since getting this, every loaf has been perfect.
Andy M. –
Love it Ensures my sourdough starter is at the right temp. I’ll try yoghurt next, but so far so good, my sourdoughs have now taken off since I have got this.
Mike –
Folding Proofer & Slow Cooker Absolutely fantastic, better than what I imagined for proving sourdough starter and sourdough mix.
Julian R. –
Sourdough proving perfected This proofer is just the best! It maintains a perfect level of humid warmth and the sourdough responds like magic. Try one – you won’t be disappointed. It packs up into the neatest unit for easy storage. Beautiful design!
John F. –
Proofed Cabinet Very good
svetlana m. –
Best ever device For bakers out there , you definitely need this proofer, excellent results every single time you making bread, highly recommend, you will not regret
Marlene B. –
Slow cooker I tried three times for the slow cooker and to no avail. Could not reach temp. in an adequate amount of time. But I do believe this is a very good way to proof one’s home made bread. It is a very attractive appliance and I also think Brod and Taylor is a very reputable company. But I think that this should not be advertised as a slow cooker.
Oliver M. –
Great prover Wish I found out about it ages ago.works really, really good.
Angelo C. –
Good but not perfect It is great for making yoghurt and proofing dough. I find that some heat escapes from the sides – it isn’t a perfect seal. I get around this by putting tea towels over the top. Haven’t used it as a slow cooker. The results I get from making yoghurt using the recipe for the thicker yoghurt is excellent – better than allowing it to set in an oven with a pilot light on. Could be bigger but then you need more room. I think it is particularly useful during the colder winter months when the house is colder and more difficult to prove dough. If you are looking to bulk ferment a large amount of dough, this isn’t going to be for you but if you are going to make 1-2 sourdough loaves then it is great.
Diane B. –
Great for bread bakers A must have for maintaing sourdough starter and proofing bread where temperature is critical for success. It’s compact and folds down easily for stotage. A game changer for me.
CY –
Folding Proofer & Slow Cooker Excellent product! It made my bread fermentation so much easier. The only downside is I found the lid is a bit hard to close properly.
Todd V. –
Excellent My daughter has been baking sourdough bread and making yoghurt. The folding proofer has been an excellent purchase and made the process simpler and the quality of the product has improved 200%. I would recommend this product if you are serious about baking sourdough bread.
Maria A. –
Awesomeness Love this, keeps my sourdough starter at the right temperature and proofing is a breeze, love it
jean-michel –
Elizabeth L.W. –
Game Changer Absolutely thrilled with this appliance – a very worthwhile and wise investment for bread making alone – have yet to discover its other capabilities – service top notch – one very happy customer thank you
Charles H. –
Transformative The Bord & Taylor Proofer has changed my perspective on bread baking. I didn’t realize how important the temperature is for the fermenting and proofing process. It has opened my eyes to trying more recipes than I ever would have attempted before. Still haven’t tried yogurt but plan to. This is a simple device but it does a great job and is easy to store. That’s assuming you aren’t using it 24×7. If you want to make better bread, stop procrastinating and order it.
Monique R. –
My husband loves it! Works as advertised and folds conveniently for storage.
Martin T. –
Folding Proofer from Brod and Taylor The proofer has helped me tremendously. A friend showed me hers and how it worked and I had to have one. It has made my sourdoughs work so much better. I had given up on sourdough until I had this. Now sourdough is once or two times a week. Sourdough pizza tonight. Highly recommend this proofer.
Yuk K. –
Great tool for home baking!! It is very nice to have it for a stable temperature of making bread!
Crisp W.C. –
Amazing Product – Proofer – Highly Recommend We purchased the proofer for our waffle business. We use dough for our waffles and needed a proofer to get them to rise a bit faster. We received the best customer service, which was very helpful and they answered all of our questions before we purchased this product. We received the product very quickly, in just a few days and have used this product everyday for the past week. It heats up very quickly and allows our dough to rise much quicker. We put our stainless steel bowls in the proofer and in less than an hour we are ready to use our dough. The size is perfect since we are in a little space and it folders flat when not in use. I highly recommend this product.
Katherine M. –
I really like the proofer With the proofer I no longer am at the mercy of the ambient temperature when making my sourdough bread. I can pretty much schedule the whole process. It’s really simplified my life a lot.
Scott R. –
I didn’t need to wait! I thought about getting this proofer for a few months, and I’m so pleased I finally got one. It takes guesswork out of bulk proofing, and makes great yogurt as a side benefit.
Scott –
Sourdough bread Can not wait for consistent results this fall and winter with bulk fermentation. Used the proofer for overnight starter and next day bulk fermentation with consistent timing results. It will only make the process more enjoyable going forward.
Cindy S. –
I never knew that I needed this! I am just making the third batch of sourdough bread and am doing the bulk rise and the final proof in the Proofer. I get a consistently impressive bulk rise and am very pleased with my Folding Proofer.
Richard C. –
Hey it works for pepper seed germination too! even in the dead of winter you can germinate your pepper and tomato seeds and anything else that needs warm soil to germinate.
Gary M. –
Randomness Removed Very useful to have a predictable temperature environment for when I want to reactivate refrigerated sourdough starter and then during the proofing stages. Ca n you make bread without it; yeah but this takes one of the big unknowns out of the equation and allows me to focus on recipes.
Jenn E. –
Great in Northern Climes Rave reviews from our family in Quebec so we had to buy one specifically to use in the spring and winter in north Canada when you really want fresh bread with/or a good slow cooked meal. This is a winner, it has been used a few times and have only positive reviews; it heats up quickly, it’s easy to assemble and to clean & it stores flat!!! ______
Bethany D. –
loving this proofer I have been baking for many many years in an old drafty house and have truly struggled with proofing methods! I have tried just about everything I’ve come across without the best results. I came across this proofer by accident but am dang glad I did. Its compact but has one hell of a punch. The only thing that I wish was different is the size, it is big enough for standard 9X13 pans but not my beloved cast iron pans which I prefer to glass or metal. Still love the proofer, have only had it for about a month and have already used it more than I can count and would recommend it to anyone looking for an easier method of proofing..
GEORGE R. –
Perfectly Suited for My Home Baking Great purchase for my home baking. Very easy to set up and use. Keeps my starter and dough at the perfect temperature. Haven’t had the opportunity to use it for other things, but I can tell it’s quite versatile and not a unitasker.
Yarden E. –
My husband LOVES this! I got this as a birthday gift for my husband. He LOVES it! It is compact when folded, which is definitely convenient, but we’ve barely put it away in the last month because its in almost constant use! My husband has very high standards, and he is very impressed by this proofer- he’s used it for his sourdoughs, pizza doughs, and yogurts, and I look forward to seeing what else he does with it- so many possibilities!

Brad and Taylor prouder Have used a few times, works well, love that I can fold it up and put away in a small spot

Love it __
Sally K. –
Happy husband My husband loves it.
Wilhelmina P. –
Bread Proofer I love it, finally I have an idea how long the proofing will take. I just love it. No regrets buying it even though it is a little pricey
Rachelle G. –
Happy starter & consistent results I purchased the proofer specifically to help maintain a really happy starter and have more consistent sourdough results & it has done just that. Very happy with it.
Ric G. –
Great but expensive Awesome product but very pricey, much more so than what it would cost in the US.
Ellie B. –
Worth the investment I toyed with the idea for ages and finally took the plunge. I am so happy with it. My sourdough, as well as other yeasted doughs, have improved dramatically by just having consistent temperatures and humidity. The temp seems to be a few degrees out but I just use a thermometer to adjust. I look forwards to proofing croissants and making yogurt in it. Thank you so much for the quality product. I highly recommend!!
Edwin V. –
My bread game has changed forever I *love* this device for proofing bread and looking after my microbial sourdough pets. I was a bit suspicious about the folding nature. When unfolded, it feels flimsy but it definitely works! Making bread in the winter is going to be so much easier.
Stephen B. –
Excellent Proofer Been using this proofer every week since I bought it. My kitchen tends to be a bit cold and my oven has a proofing function but I can’t use the oven for anything else if I’m proofing in it. This is super easy to setup and use, freeing up the oven. I guess the only downside might be the size, but it’s worked out perfect for everything I’ve baked so far!
emmanuelle –
TrЏs contente Pour faire pousser des p‰tes, du levain et faire des yaourts, nickel.
Charlotte S. –
The perfect bread proofer I have been baking bread for over 50 years and I wish I had had the Brod and Taylor bread proofer at the beginning of my bread baking journey. It works perfectly and there is no more worries that it is either too cold or too warm. I love the fact that it folds down for storage. My next step is to use it for making yogurt. Thank you for designing the perfect solution to every bread bakers issues with finding the an ideal way to proof their bread!!
SAMANTHA R. –
Not sure of the benefits Not sure how it improves the bulk fermentation or increases the size or strength of my starter. I didn’t find the cooking pamphlet very helpful. Given the price, I was hoping for something a little better and reliable. I wanted my starter to look like the one Josh Wiessman’s makes. My didn’t get close. I use rye and wholemeal starter with a ratio of 1:1:1 The starter is 2 months old. I feed it twice daily. Sadly, it seems to respond better on the kitchen table.
Charles E.P. –
Excellent Proofer It holds the temperature and humidity well. I like the easy storage folding design.
David R. –
Excellent Proofer I’ve been using the proofer for a variety of doughs: pizza, rolls, donuts, etc. It works great and is easy to set up/take down and store. I would recommend getting the extra shelf if you are planning to do multiple pans of rolls and I just got the storage bag which is very handy to keep all the components in, including the extra shelf.
Mary S. –
Best purchase for your dough. If you want to make great sourdough then the proofer is the way to go!!
Barbara F. –
Folding Proofer and slow cooker I have been using this product for dough proofing and so far it has worked perfectly. Since I live in a sub-tropical place, would be interesting to see how it will work once external temperature will go well above 30+. Very easy to assemble and fold back. The only note about the order is the very long waiting time. I pre-ordered and paid for it months before getting it.
Patti W. –
Nothing beats quality I needed a proofer as I was having trouble with the environment my bread had to proof in. Gone are the days where heat gathers atop a frig. It works spectacularly. It’s simple. I can’t wait to try the slow cooker, yogurt and Kiefer. And the recipes! Also, top rated by America’s Test Kitchen. That’s my go to for recommendations. They work the appliances and tell you why. Brod and Taylor, hands down!
Joshua C. –
Improving my bread game Solid product. My bread game has improved exponentially.
Mollie H. –
Proofer Nirvana Works perfectly and it shipped quickly.
W. –
Amazing Product This proofer made making sourdough so much easier and helped avoid an all day affair! We live in the midwest and it has gotten very cold recently, so it would have taken much longer for our dough to bulk ferment at 66 degrees. But instead, I just set the proofer to the temperature needed and didn’t have to worry about anything! I am so happy I splurged and got the proofer. I can’t wait to make many more loaves!
Linda H. –
Spot On! A wonderful All-In-One appliance for my growing culturing and fermenting kitchen. Plan to try the slow cooker recipe Brod & Taylor proved in the near future. Expect it to go flawlessly.
Pete M. –
Sourdough helper The proofer has really improved my baking, great control over sourdough sourdough prep and bulk fermentation, and proofing yeast loaves is fast and precise.
Kymmie M.J. –
Love it!!!!! I so love my proofer! It has cut my ride time in half. I made Black garlic, I’m so happy!
Barbara M. –
Proofer Great to have a source of consistent temperature for the yeast to grow in! Our challahs say thank you!
Stephan S. –
Best Countertop Appliance I Own!
I live on the coast of New England where the winter months can be difficult to prove dough. Your folding proofer has proven to be a great solution for all of my winter bread making. The proofer is well designed, extremely convenient, and easy to use. I recommend this proofer for anyone who’s kitchen makes it difficult to poof dough.
Robbie D. –
Happy Wife It was s gift to my wife. She loves to bake but was having trouble getting the proofing correct. Me being me decided to give her what she needed without asking.
Jerome R. –
Two small improvements It’s great. I’ve used it for proofing only, no slow cook so far.
W.A. –
What a change I have only had my proofer about 48 hours and already making a difference. The consistent even heat did a great number on my sourdough levain. I am a happy SD baker
Charles E. –
Trustworthy So Far Accurate to within 2¡, I am really enjoying this proofer. It seems to be very reliable and allows me to relax knowing that the temperature is stable.
Michelle –
Just What I Needed I use the folding proofer to proof my sourdough einkorn breads. It works perfectly! The french boules, batards, and ciabattas have all come out great. It is so nice to have consistent results. Our house gets extremely dry in the winter. So I have found that I still need to cover the dough to prevent development of a skin even with water in the tray, but that is fine with me. I no longer have to worry about the house being too chilly or warm.
Tad B. –
Mostly perfect! Love this proofer. The only thing I wish it had was a hinge for the lid when opened and in use.
MJ –
great product Working on my first bread using the proofer today and so far it is great. Bread is rising as it should. Before using the proofer was having trouble getting my bread to raise. Problem is now solved! Thanks for a great product.
Mirele –
A game changer! As we enter the winter season and the house has become colder, this proofer is making all the difference in my ability to control fermentation and proofing of my sourdough starter and loaves. It’s light-weight, simple to use, and folds up easily to store. A brilliant design! Thank you B&T.
Sourdough B. –
Perfect for my Sourdough I live in a very old, New England home and keeping my sourdough starter on the countertop during the bitter cold winters is difficult and unpredictable as we turn our heat down low in the evenings to save energy costs. To have this perfect size proofing box that uses minimal energy to keep my sourdough starter happy and healthy at a consistent temperature has been such a blessing and it is stronger than ever! I proof my bread and other baked goods in the proofer and it makes my life as a baking blogger and recipe developer so much easier. It is a fantastic investment if you bake a lot with yeasted doughs like I do!
Anonymous –
Consistency Consistent temperature is key to achieving fabulous sourdough starters and breads. We are so impressed with this bread proofer. It’s doesn’t take long to see and taste the results. Our sourdough starters become lively overnight, our breads rise in half the time. Fabulous bread proofer. We are so impressed that we have ordered a second proofer for all our other projects like homemade yogurts, kefirs, etc
Vilius R.D. –
very good but highly overpriced product very good but highly overpriced product
Jan C. –
Wonderful appliance! A great little appliance, I am using it to keep my sourdough starter at 73 degrees. I also used it to make yogurt, quite successfully.
Robert P. –
Bread Proofer We have been making sourdough bread for several years, and tried Brod &Taylor’s bread proofer to try and increase our consistency. Great results.
Linda L. –
Love the folding aspect as we have limited space. Has performed well so far for proofing. Not as good as light on in oven though, but can’t always have oven free to use.
Deborah T. –
I love the proofer it is very easy to set up and use. I really like that it folds up nicely to store.
Danielle V. –
Perfect!!! Exactly what my cold, drafty kitchen needed. My bread is turning out with great texture, crumb and crust thanks to the Proofing box. Storage is easy once folded. I will be experimenting with different recipes in the coming months (I am retiring in two weeks!!). Can’t wait to see how cinnamon rolls come out. Time saver as the dough rises in allotted time. (Previously my rise times were twice the expected). Thank you!!!!
Lorraine O. –
Folding Bread Proofer I gave this product to my husband for his birthday at the beginning of December. He has already used it several times and he loves it. He gets more consistent results when the dough is rising for baking bread and making homemade pizza crust.
Catherine B. –
Great addition to my cold kitchen! I love this appliance! Baking bread is now so joyful!
Kelvin H. –
Folding proofer I bought this as a Christmas gift for my mom. She love it. Because the cold weather especially in cooler months, it took a long time to proof a bread. Now with the proofer, she can make bread any time. __
Luysse –
DiffŽrence de tempŽrature Je confirme tous les qualitŽs ŽnumŽrŽes.
Rebecca L. –
A game changer! This product gave much needed consistency to my proofing times
Paul S. –
Great! Expensive, but so far certainly worth it. Uses very little electricity and is more consistent temp that proofing dough in the oven with the light on.
Nancy –
Game changer As much as I love to make my own bread, it was nearly impossible in the winter. The best thermostat for winter fuel savings had my poor dough practically shivering in the bowl. It certainly wasn’t rising sufficiently to provide good bread. The bread proofing box has turned my occasion indulgence into weekly enjoyment. Next up: homemade yogurt!
Linda –
Must have! After trying to make bread unsuccessfully during a period of cold weather, I finally relented and ordered the proofer. Now I can make bread anytime with predictable results. Also, I no longer need to use the oven light to keep the temp warm and risk overheating the starter or dough. I can leave the starter or dough and not have to set an alarm to remind me to check on its progress. It’s a little pricey but enjoyable to use.
MICHAEL B. –
Brod&Taylor Proofer I avoid breads unless I bake. No knead breads that require 12 hour proofing, sour dough to multi grain breads are now easily produced with precise rise and texture. I will use as a product fermenting device for all the products Brod & Taylor include in their recipe book plus. The small foot print that makes for easy storage proves big things can come in little boxes. From my think outside the box list that prompted me to buy- it holds 24 one lb jars of honey to de-granualize (works great at 120 deg setting) and in a pinch I know it would incubate eggs. I want to see a review from the person that does this.
Elizabeth H. –
Great Thing except… This proofer box is awesome. It can do a lot of useful things (I’d never have bought it just for bread, I don’t even own a food processor!) – including the less obvious warming dishes and reheating leftovers in their glass storage.
P.N. –
I use this for bread I was annoyed with the temperature swings in my home. So, I bought this to make reliable crusty French bread.
A.W. –
Didn’t think I needed it, I was wrong At first, this seemed like a gadget that could be replaced with things I already own such as an oven. And to be honest, yes, you can use your oven or other kitchen appliances in place of the proofer. However, the proofer makes work so much easier. I make my own dairy free yogurt. I culture my yogurt for 12 hours and I know it will come out perfect because it remains at a steady temperature throughout. Store ought vegan yogurt doesn’t even compare. I also make croissants, and everyone who has ever made croissants will know, correctly proofing them is as crucial as all the other steps. It’s a delicate process and after putting in two days of work laminating, turning and sheeting the dough, the last thing you want is for the process to fail at the proofing stage. That’s days of work wastedÉ.and I’ve been there before. Now I know I can trust the proofer to keep an accurate temperature where my croissants will proof undisturbed and the butter inside won’t melt. No more underproofed croissants with pools of butter in the oven! I just wish it could accommodate a half sheet pan, but I just use the additional rack shelf and place two quarter sheet pans instead. If anything ever happens to mine, I already know I will fix/replace it.
L.B. –
The best thing I have ever bought since my kitchen aide mixer I watched Joshua Weissman using this and it made me want to get one to get back to baking breads. In New England I could never get my breads to raise and when I did, I wanted to not do them since it was like six to eight hours later. Then that would mean another proofing time which would be three hours later. With this proofer I was able to do English muffins starting at 6 and making breakfast with them by 8:30. I can’t wait to use it and it hasn’t been put away since I got it. I have made pretzels, English muffins, pullman loaves, bao, hot dog rolls, ciabatta rolls and sour dough. I’m having fun with yeast doughs using this proofer. I would highly recommend this to anyone in New England or Northern states that have older houses that keep your doughs from raising quickly.
Danica B. –
Seriously Amazing! The B&T Folding Proofer and Slow Cooker is seriously amazing! It’s been in constant use since purchase, and I can honestly say both functions are excellent. From fantastically perfect bread dough to black garlic, this portable device does it all for pennies of energy. I’m about to buy a second as a gift for another family member who is already a fantastic cook and baker to up their game even more. Thanks, Br¿d and Taylor!
Dan W. –
Made a huge difference in my bread In the winter I can actually proof bread at the right temperature!
Delories G. –
My proofer I gave this to my daughter ( Tamara) for Christmas and she loves it.
Paul H.S. –

Gift This was a requested gift for a family member. Delivery was prompt, they are very pleased with the product.

My Sourdough Starter Loves This Proofer I’ve read articles and watched videos explaining the importance of consistent temperature and humidity during the sourdough bread-making process. I also knew that my Pacific Northwest kitchen’s temperature fluctuated from 18¡C to 29¡C. The Brod & Taylor proofer proved the articles and videos correct! My starter and bulk fermenting dough remain constant at 28¡ C, allowing my 1:5:5 ratio starter to double in less than three hours and become fully active within 5 hours. Bulk fermentation is equally consistent.
