I love this product. I use my nut milk bags for everything for making homemade cheese, sprouting, and – yes – nut milk. So easy to care for and the fine mesh is perfect for straining without making it difficult to draw out the liquid (as I find when trying to use flour sack towels). Better than muslin. More versatile and more reliable (no leaking or mishaps like when I use a rag). I love the volume and the broad opening. This is a great product!

These are perfect for making homemade greek yogurt. I have another nut bag that I bought here on Amazon that has been going strong for a couple months, but I was getting ready to buy a larger one. The one that I have been using is 9×12 and it is just the right size for holding the yogurt made from one gallon of milk, but there is no wiggle room and I usually lose about a quarter cup of unstrained yogurt. I was very happy when these came up for review.
These 13×14 bags are PERFECT for making and straining a gallon of yogurt made from skim milk. I have a stock pot with a removable spaghetti straining insert pot, and I put the nut bag with the yogurt inside of the strainer pot in the stock pot in the fridge for several hours. I usually have to dump out the whey a few times because there is usually close to half a gallon of runoff that is strained from each batch of yogurt.
The bags are reusable- I hand wash and air dry the bags after using them, and then I will give them a quick sanitising bath in boiling water with a sanitising solution (and rinse them off) before I use them to strain the next batch of yogurt. I like to be sure that the only bacteria in the yogurt is the stuff that is supposed to be in it.

I use these bags instead of cheese cloth for many different things. They allow me to squeeze the liquid out of food like potatoes for my rosti recipe. They also work great for making cold brew coffee but you will probably want to dedicate the bag to that & not use it for anything else so that no off flavours develop in your next project.
These bags are really easy to clean. I usually soak them in a bit of white vinegar & then just wash them with dish soap & rinse really well. Just hang them to dry Ð they dry fast.

The lack of drawstrings is not really a disadvantage; the bag is pretty large so the food is low in the bag and it can be twisted closed as you’re ringing it out. But the lack of strings means it’s easier to clean and I like that.
It does what they say it will… it’s easy to use, works well, and cleans up easily. They advertise that their larger size makes it possible to fit over a blender jar, but so far I haven’t figured out how to make that into an advantage. Personally, I put the mess strainer into a container to catch the slurry, then pull up the sides and squish it. If I put this over a blender, what catches the liquid that comes out. Seems bass ackwards to me.
Anyway, I like that these bags are reusable after cleaning so I can use it in place of cheesecloth, which I can’t clean enough to reuse.
So far it holds up well. If I have trouble later on, I update this.

I never new these existed until it came as a recommendation. I tried it out for the first time yesterday. The bags are well made (there are two in the package). Now I was using them to try to get a bit more juice from my vegetable pulp (beats, carrots, kale, apple, ginger). The bag easily fit over the pulp container with plenty of room to spare. The bag also contained all the pulp while I squeezed away. And amazingly, it clean right up! I dumped the pulp into my compost and turned the bag inside out to rinse the little bits that stuck to it and juice grime down the drain. I thought it would have absorbed the beet juice, it it rinsed fully clean! I then hung it over my kitchen faucet to air dry. I love these bags.

I used this for almond milk – it worked great and was so easy to clean. I didnt’ really pay attention to the fact that it was nylon and not cotton when I placed the order, i had hoped to use for coffee but I prefer using cotton bags for coffee. This was a really nice bag for making almond milk and the milk was smooth!

As always, Blendtec comes through! I started juicing celery juice in the morning. After one day, it was apparent I needed a bag. This bag is so durable, large enough for a big batch, and so easy to clean! I couldn’t do the celery juice without it! Thank you, Blendtec!

Years ago we bought an expensive high end juicer. We had heard about the benefits of juicing and we hopped on the proverbial bandwagon. We went out and bought a whole lot of fresh fruits and vegetables, only to use it one time. It was large and cumbersome, hard to store, still left far too much gritty pulp in the final product and was an absolute bear to clean. We have brought up the subject of juicing over the years, but remembering the past experience, has left us gun shy to say the least.
I was introduced to this bag and I think I heard angels singing. I should have known. I own several Blendtec products and they have all been AMAZING!__ Truly, this bag is a wonder! No bulky equipment, easy to clean, easy to store, inexpensive, durable, and it doesnÕt leave gritty pulp in my juice. We made celery juice first. It was so quick and easy, we started looking around for other things to juice. I had just bought a bag of apples, so that was next. It was AWESOME! Fresh juice like you can by at a farmers market, right from my own kitchen. Several wonderful side benefits were, the leftover pulp can be used to enhance your favorite recipe, feed chickens or use in your compost etc. ItÕs so easy, itÕs a fun way to get your children and grandchildren involved, without having to worry about little fingers getting caught in sharp moving blades or spinning parts. I guarantee they will love it! What child doesnÕt want to help Grandma, squish things and get their hands a little sticky?__ YouÕll want to buy several. They are inexpensive enough and the whole family can get involved at once. Make enough juice or nut butter to can and store. I truly believe you will love this bag, I know I do!

I bought these to drain yogurt to a thicker consistency. They worked perfectly. I was worried about cleaning them but it wasnÕt a problem at all.

These bags are a jucing lifesaver. You don’t need an expensive juicer. Just blend you veggies and fruit and strain through the bag. Also make but milk. Waaaay easier to clean than a juicer and you can take them with you everywhere.

it is easy to use and also easy to clean.

I used this both for celery juice and almond milk. It is impressive how dry the bag is at the end of squeezing the liquid out.
Pros:
– Great for almond milk
– Great for celery juice
Cons:
– It’s a pain to clean. Really takes away from the experience. All the tiny little bits of almond get stuck everywhere in the little gaps of the mesh, around the outer liner and more.
Neutral:
– There are no cleaning or care instructions in the bag. It’s not a bit deal, but I rather see it there, at least a link to where in their website the instructions are. Nothing a little google can’t resolve…
– Not directly related to the product… but the left over product (a lot of the nutritional value of almonds) is wasted. I went to blendtech’s website and got all the recipes to use, and tried a few… unfortunately they were pretty bad. Almond pulp hummus was impossible to eat, simply awful. While putting the pulp as part of a smoothy was tolerable, it still gave the smoothy a weird grittiness. I am writing this comment on the neutral, but it’s hard for me to throw away food, so I powered through the hummus and the smoothy, but they were no good…. Your mileage may vary I guess

I guess I’m old school (or just cheap) but I’ve been using cheese cloth for ages and rather poo-poo’d the idea of using one of these bags…until trying it. Wow. What a difference. Far easier to work with, far less mess, far better results. Is it worth the extra cost – actually yes because this can be re-used more than the cheesecloth and wastes less. Good quality, good quantity.

I used this bag to make oat milk and it worked as described! There were no large chunks in my milk and it squeezed out relatively easily. It was pretty easy to clean and it feels very sturdy. They are also bigger than I originally expected. I like how they come with a one year warranty, just in case!

I have used this for rinsing grains and draining ground meats. This is genius and you lose none of the product but all of the liquid unlike a colander. This bag is very thick but flexible, seems like it will hold up with use.

I have had various nut bags and I can really tell the quality construction these bags have. They are nice and large and good for straining juice, nut milks, yogurt. They are great for squeezing food like spinach to dry for dip or casserole, or for squeezing potatoes for recipes like gnocchi. I’ve been very happy with the quality of these bags.

Blendtec makes decent blenders. It’s about time they make a nut milk strainer to go with!
This makes it so easy to make the milk in one step.
